Shona Dougall graduated with honours in Fine Art Drawing and Painting from Glasgow School of Art in 1981.
A contemporary of Peter Howson, Adrienne Wiszniewski and Ken Curry, she won the Mary Armour Still Life Prize
in her final year.She has exhibited widely throughout Edinburgh and Glasgow and held two 'solo' shows in 2000,
one in February and another in October at Kojin and Ednet in Leith. Working mainly in pastel, themes include still life,
portraiture and Mediterranean scenes. She was invited to contribute to the Glasgow Group'sexhibitions and in 2001
became a member of the group. More recent work has concentrated on scenes of Edinburgh andGlasgow and 
surroundingareas, portraying different moods and seasons. She has a passion for colour and for creating mood 
through colour.Her work attracted the attention of Chapman Literary Magazine where she was the featured artist in
the Spring 2001 issue. She continues to contribute regularly to Chapman and in addition one of her latest images was
used on thecover of the Spring 2005 issue. Hanging Loose Press, New York also featured her work on the 
cover of their publication 'Scottish Anthology' in 2003.
