The Glasgow Group Society

The society was set up by Glasgow Group founder/member Bill Birnie in 1965 as a focus for the support the group was receiving from the public.

For a small annual fee society members received discounts on all art works bought from the group. They also received discounts on art materials and framing at specified art stores and framemakers trading in Glasgow.

Now established 40 years, the society still operates according to it's original aims.

The artists would like to thank all of the society members for the support given to the Group during the past year. The Glasgow Group Society has a long history and your support over the years has ensured that the Group has continued to flourish. Glasgow Group deeply appreciate your support.

The current society membership fee is £10 annually.

Summer 2002

Long standing Society members Graham and Elizabeth Cathcart invited Glasgow Group members to spend a day with them at their home to view their art collection and have lunch.

This was a wonderful gesture and was very much appreciated by all the members who were able to attend. In the afternoon we spent time in the garden where these photographs were taken.
