GLASGOW GROUP HISTORY - THE 90SIn the 1990's , exchange exhibitions were held in Spain and Poland in addition to the Annual Exhibitions in Glasgow , which also included artists from France , Poland and Germany. Information on the Polish Exhibition in Glasgow in 1991 can be found at ART CONTACT Looking towards the future the Glasgow Group will continue its position as a showcase for Glasgow Artists and to exhibit them in a European context by inviting artists from outwith the U.K.,offering the Glasgow public a wide range of contemporary Scottish visual art and continuing to play an important role in the cultural life of the city. 1992![]() In 1992 the group mounted a Solo Exhibition of the work of Boyd McNicol 1996In 1996 the Group moved to the RGI Kelly Gallery , Douglas Street , Glasgow ,to hold its Annual Exhibition. Annual Exhibitions were held at this gallery up to and including the year 2000.

All members exhibited. There were 3 invited artists. From Scotland Brent Millar and Liz. Murray and from Poland , Gabriela Trynkler.

click for photos Our second Annual Exhibition held in the RGI Kelly Gallery was in May 1997 and formed , as in the previous year , part of the visual arts exhibitions held during Glasgow's Arts Festival , Mayfest , held annually every May. Glasgow Group members were : All members exhibited The Group had one invited artist from Europe , Robert Pillard-Valere
In 1998 the Group held its Annual Exhibition in the RGI Kelly Gallery ,Glasgow. Four artists were invited to exhibit. From France we had Bertrand Bracaval , we were delighted to renew acquaintance with founder member and author Alisdair Gray , from Dundee we had Ronnie Forbes and from Glasgow , Jo Linley. In 1999 the Group again held its' annual exhibition in the RGI Kelly Gallery. Also that year we held for the first time a PORTFOLIO SHOW approaching Christmas at the home of Ken Palmer. Exhibiting members at the Annual Exhibition were: As usual we had a number of invited artists in addition to Group members. Our foreign artist was David Linley. Although born in Glasgow , David had been domiciled in Nurnberg 10 years. His cousin Jo Linley was again an invited artist. 1999 was the first time that David and Jo had exhibited together. In addition we had a return visit by Ronald Forbes from Dundee. We also had Jim Pattison from Glasgow and Helga Chart from Edinburgh.
